What Is Your Soap Made Of and Why?

Every product we handcraft is vegan. We believe that all people are compassionate, and when given the choice will choose compassion if made aware of the choice. Sodium tallowate (tallow/beef fat) and sodium lardate (lard/pig fat) are common ingredients used the soap industry. The fact is that most consumers are just unaware of this. We pride ourselves in being a compassionate company that cares about all life here on Earth. Our company has been certified through PETA's Beauty Without Bunnies Program as Cruelty Free and Vegan. Palm Oil

Palm oil is a conditioning hard oil that supports the lather in our soaps keeping the bubbles around longer. It also keeps our bars harder. We use ethically sourced palm oil in our soaps because we care about the orangutans and the deforestation of the rain forest. Our palm oil supplier is a member of the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil. For more information about their mission please check out their website

Coconut Oil

We use coconut oil in our soap because it is one of the most cleansing oils available. It boosts lather tremendously, so we use it in moderation because it can be harsh if too much is used. Coconut oil is such a great lather producer in soap that it can make large bubbles in the hardest water. We think we've struck a perfect balance. Our recipe is mild enough for sensitive skin, and strong enough to get you clean.

Olive Oil

Olive oil is a conditioning oil perfect for all skin types. It provides a creamy lather that is mild, and moisturizing.

Rosehip Oil

Rosehip oil is a luxury conditioning oil high in nutrients and antioxidants. It boosts moisture levels in the skin, and adds to the silkiness of the lather.

Castor Oil

Castor Oil is one of the most unique oils used in soap. It is highly moisturizing, and stabilizes the lather, but is in a class all by itself.

Mica comes from metamorphic rock/minerals under the Earth's surface. It is naturally shiny in appearance, but not in soap. We only use mica for colorant. All of our micas are skin safe, vegan, cruelty free, and FDA approved for use in soap.

We do offer unscented soaps for those sensitive to fragrance. For everyone else we lightly scent our soaps, so that the majority of people can use them including many who have been sensitive to the fragrance level in other soap brands. We don't want the fragrance in our soaps to be overwhelming, and we want you to be able to wear whatever fragrance you would like to after showering without your soap competing with your cologne. Everyone's scent tolerance is different. In order to make our products suitable for most people we made this decision. You will feel refreshed, and smell amazing, but it won't be too strong.

Have Your Products Been Tested?

All of our products have been extensively tested on humans for at least five years, and tested by an esthetician for mildness before ever being made available to the public. We are a handmade skincare company, but your safety and happiness are our first concerns.

Is Your Packaging Biodegradable/Recyclable?

Yes. Our soap packaging is completely biodegradable. We use environmentally responsible paper with 30% recycled fiber. Our other packaging is made of PET plastic, which is recyclable.

What Makes Your Soap Better?

Our soap is real soap. We do not remove the glycerin in our soap making process, so our bars stay highly emollient. Glycerin acts as a natural emollient pulling moisture from the air into your skin. Many of the larger brands remove the glycerin from their bars in order to make their bars harder, and then sell the glycerin separate as lotion. We do not remove the glycerin, so your need for lotion will definitely decrease using our products, which can save money over time.

We do not add detergents or foam boosters to our soaps. Many larger brands use detergents, and foam boosters, but those ingredients have no benefit to your skin. Their bars are detergent in bar soap form, but are not actual soap. Please understand there is a big difference between handmade soap and detergent bars masquerading as beauty bars. This is the main reason people have the misconception that soap is drying.

Can You Give A Comparison of Your Bar to Theirs?
